Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Adeyfield, Grovehill and Chaulden adventure playgrounds are now open for the summer holidays (9.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday).

Due to essential maintenance, Bennetts End Adventure Playground will now open on Monday 2 August 2021. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Maximum numbers apply - 70 people can use the playgrounds at any one time, which is inclusive of adults, in order to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 and to keep our families safe. Children aged under five years are exempt. Up to 16 people are permitted to use the cabins, inclusive of adults.

COVID advisors will be on site during busy periods to help with safety measures and to answer any questions you may have.

Both Adeyfield and Grovehill playgrounds have had a makeover with new multi-play structures including climbing walls, a sand pit, water play and double tubular slides. There are also new floodlit 3G artificial turf pitches and a multi-play basketball area.

Our adventure playgrounds

Adventure playgrounds

We have four adventure playgrounds across the borough, which are free to use and cater for 8 to 16 year olds (children under 8 are welcome when accompanied by an adult). They are a safe environment for children to meet, play and learn.

They are managed and supervised by a team of qualified staff and provide a secure and stimulating environment for all children, including those with special needs and disabilities. Please remember that the playgrounds are run as open access facilities, which means that children are not restricted and can come and go as they wish (all children attending one of our playgrounds must register beforehand, see below for registration details).

Our adventure playgrounds are available to hire outside normal opening hours. Ideal for birthday parties (including discos, inflatables and laser tag), family gatherings and school events.

The cabins are equipped with pool and table tennis tables and each adventure playground has its own unique outside sports area and wooden play structures.

Although there will be a member of staff on the premises, parents are responsible for their children and guests at all times with the exception of laser tag and inflatables, when trained staff will be provided.
