If you're one of our tenants or leaseholders, or you're staying in our temporary accommodation, we'd like you to know about our new Tenant Academy.
We want you to enjoy living in Dacorum and make the most of life in the borough. We believe the housing service can help with this.
Working with our partners, we're offering a wide range of free courses, including practical skills, fun, leisure and exercise. We'd like to offer you the opportunity to:
- Develop new skills
- Improve health and wellbeing
- Prepare for college, university, employment or volunteering
At the moment we're running digital skills courses for the over 60s. These courses are free and run by our partners, Dacorum Communities for Learning (DCfL).
Each course lasts seven weeks and takes place at one of our supported housing schemes. You don't need to live at the scheme to join in.
We've also launched a series of dance classes in our supported housing schemes. This is a fun way to get up and moving with your friends.
Other courses will include:
- Using a computer or tablet
- Exercise for all
- Money management
- Basic repairs and decorating your home
- Working in the community
- Arts and crafts
- Work experience in construction
- Volunteering in the community
If there's another class, activity or basic course you'd like to try but can't afford we may be able to help.
If you, or someone you know is interested in taking part, please download and complete the Tenant Academy Referral Form (PDF 295KB) and return it by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01442 228000 and ask for tenant involvement.
