Food hygiene rating scheme
Appeal against a rating
If you do not agree with the rating you are given, you can appeal.
You must appeal within 21 days (including weekends and bank holidays) of receiving your notification letter.
To appeal, please download and complete the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme appeal form (PDF 241KB)
Request a revisit
You can request that an inspector revisits your premises if:
- three months have passed since your original inspection
- you have made the hygiene improvements that our Food Safety Officer told you about at your last inspection.
Please download and complete the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme revisit form (PDF 215 KB) to request a revisit.
Right to reply
After an inspection, you have a ‘right to reply’. This is different to an appeal.
The right to reply gives you the opportunity to let us know how you have improved hygiene, or to say if there were unusual circumstances at the time of the inspection. We will publish the right to reply online with your business’ hygiene rating.
Please download and complete the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme right to reply form (PDF 214 KB) and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be collecting bins from roads where it is safe to do so. Please leave your bins out for collection. If your bins have not yet been collected, leave them on the boundary of your property and we will collect them as soon as conditions allow. ×
