Celebrating our Community Champions

We're delighted to announce that Tring Community Garden - Tring in Transition, and Anna's Funky Art are this year's Clean, Safe and Green Community Champion Award winners. Boho Boxmoor and Kirsten Riemer are also Highly Commended.

The Community Champion Award is now in its tenth year and recognises individuals and groups who go out of their way to make Dacorum a cleaner, safer and greener place to live.

To celebrate the hard work that our 2018 Community Champions do in their neighbourhoods, an awards ceremony was held on Wednesday 17 October, with Mayor of Dacorum Cllr Rosie Sutton handing out the certificates and trophies.

Councillor Janice Marshall, Portfolio Holder for Environmental, Sustainability and Regulatory Services, said: "These awards are a perfect opportunity to showcase the selfless people that we have in Dacorum, those who dedicate their spare time to making their communities cleaner, safer and greener. Your hard work is an inspiration to others and does not go unnoticed. Thank you for making Dacorum a better place for all to enjoy."

The awards are sponsored by Arco, the UK's leading supplier of personal protective equipment, work-wear and workplace safety products.
