Show love for your park this #LoveParks Week

Show us how much you love your local park during Love Parks Week (14-23 July)

Join in with the 100 million visits to UK parks this #LoveParks Week (14 -23 July) and tell the world why you love your park.

Love Parks Week, now in its 11th year, is Britain’s biggest celebration of these valuable spaces. We are joining the celebration by asking as many people as possible to share why they love Dacorum’s parks.

This #LoveParks Week, we are encouraging everyone to go out and enjoy their local park, whether you’re playing with the kids, getting active, having a picnic or unwinding with a gentle stroll. We want you to take a photo, video or simply post on social media, using the hashtag #LoveParks, telling the world why you love your park.

Using this tide of public support, with people sharing how much parks matter to them and why, environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy will campaign to secure the quality of parks for future generations to enjoy.

Paul Todd, Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award manager, said, “We believe that everybody, wherever they live, should have access to a quality green space. We are asking everyone to join us in showing how much they care and helping us to protect parks for future generations.”

Hertfordshire has over 100 parks and open spaces, with several of Dacorum’s parks achieving Green Flag status – the national standard of excellence for parks. Now, thanks to the new online tool ParksHerts, finding the perfect park to explore near you has never been easier. Use your location and filter by park type, facilities available, and the type of activities you can do there. Visit the ParksHerts website to get exploring.
