Gadebridge Park prepares to make a splash

Image illustrating children enjoying a splash parkWe are about to begin a significant project to improve Gadebridge Park.

Our borough’s largest park will be home to a new splash park, which has been much-desired by local residents. Following a consultation last summer, new additional, seasonal toilets will be installed, along with a kiosk providing refreshments for visitors.

A new fully-inclusive play area will provide recreation facilities to entertain children and families all year round. Ways to improve the river are also being explored, along with additional walkways and signage.

Work will be starting on the park in the next few months. The outdoor recreation facilities will now be closed to make way for the new splash park and play area.

Councillor Janice Marshall, Portfolio Holder for Environmental Sustainability and Regulatory Services, said, “We have decided to make this investment in Gadebridge Park following feedback from our residents. The improvements we are planning will make the park a fantastic place for families from Dacorum and beyond to visit. There’s a lot of preparatory work to do – for example, connecting power and water to the site – so it’s good to see work getting started straight away.”
